EUR.EX.MA at PLAST 2026: smart technologies for plastic materials development and testing

From June 9 to 12, 2026, EUR.EX.MA will participate in PLAST 2026 (Hall 15 – Booth J49) at Fiera Milano Rho, showcasing its laboratory and pilot solutions dedicated to Research & Development and Quality Control activities in the field of thermoplastic materials extrusion.

Today’s market requires the processing of increasingly complex materials — recycled materials, biopolymers, innovative compounds and multilayer formulations — making it increasingly important to study material behavior, stability and processability directly in the laboratory.

EUR.EX.MA develops compact extrusion technologies designed to allow companies, R&D centers, universities and material producers to process small quantities of polymer, compare different formulations and develop new applications with reduced consumption and maximum operational flexibility.

Among the technologies showcased during the exhibition will be MICROEX BLOWN 5, the smallest EUR.EX.MA laboratory extruder for 5-layer blown film applications.

The line is designed for the development and testing of multilayer blown film structures, allowing the production of samples for mechanical, optical and barrier evaluations, as well as processability studies and material comparison activities.

MICROEX BLOWN 5 can process traditional materials such as PE, PP, EVOH and PA, as well as biopolymers, recycled materials and elastomers. Thanks to its compact design and variable B.U.R., it allows the production of tubular film with adjustable layflat dimensions while studying formulation behavior using minimal quantities of material.

EUR.EX.MA will also be present at the Gefran booth (Hall 15 – Booth H/J 53/58), the international Italian company specialized in industrial automation and process control technologies. Here, the MICROEX CAST laboratory cast film extruder will be displayed as a concrete example of the collaboration between Gefran and EUR.EX.MA in the integration of electrical components, control systems and automation solutions within EUR.EX.MA extrusion lines.

The technologies developed by EUR.EX.MA are designed to offer high operational flexibility, process parameter monitoring and intuitive machine management, features that are increasingly important in Research & Development and Quality Control activities.

The lines are also designed for digital integration and process data management according to Industry 4.0 principles, allowing improved test repeatability, process traceability and more efficient acquisition of processing parameters.

Participation in PLAST 2026 will therefore be an opportunity to demonstrate how compact laboratory technologies can support Research & Development and Quality Control activities in the study of new materials, formulations and extrusion processes.
