EUR.EX.MA is among the partners of the OTTIMUS project, funded by the European Union, the Italian State and Regione Lombardia under the ERDF 2021–2027 Programme.
The project aims to develop innovative solutions to make Lombardy's industrial supply chains more sustainable through the circular economy, waste valorisation and the development of new materials such as compostable bioplastics.
Within OTTIMUS, we are developing a pilot multilayer blown film extrusion line, a key technology for the production of advanced compostable films for sustainable packaging applications.
Our activities include:
- design and construction of the pilot plant;
- optimisation of co-extrusion processes for biopolymers;
- testing and validation of new sustainable materials at pre-industrial scale;
- reduction of energy consumption and material usage during experimental activities.
These activities help transform research into practical industrial applications, accelerating the development of high-performance compostable packaging solutions.
With more than 25 years of experience in laboratory and pilot extrusion technologies, EUR.EX.MA contributes to OTTIMUS with expertise and innovative solutions that support faster, more efficient and sustainable development.
The project is currently under development, and we will continue to share updates on its progress.
Project carried out with the contribution of resources from the European Union – European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), the Italian State and Regione Lombardia.
